I’m Rooting for You

Hi, I’m Susan Lassiter-Lyons the founder of My Money My Freedom.
I’m an investor, best-selling author, publisher, certified financial coach, and activist.
I graduated magna cum laude from Regis University majoring in business and finance and am a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit National Honor Society.
I also have certificates in Financial Markets and Narrative Economics from Yale University, where I had the privilege of studying under the guidance of Nobel Prize-winning economist Robert Shiller.
I made my first retirement investment in 1989 so, I’ve been at this for a few minutes.
In the late ’90’s I began investing in real estate and in 2000, founded a mortgage company and launched a private debt fund to make short-term construction loans to real estate investors in Colorado.
I closed 612 real estate transactions, raised $26 million for the fund, and averaged a 12.9% annual return for my fund investors.
In 2008, the wheels flew off the real estate bus so I closed my mortgage company and fund and founded a digital publishing company to teach real estate investors how to raise capital via a best-selling book, courses, seminars, and coaching.
In 2017, my mom passed away and it was a shock on all fronts.
Her death was unexpected and when I was settling her affairs, I was stunned to discover that she had less than $300 when she died.
I knew that she was in bad shape financially but had no idea that she was existing only on social security income.
Her 401(k) was first decimated by the tech bubble bursting in 2000 and then totally drained following a costly divorce and subsequent struggle to keep her house.
After her death, I discovered that so many women are in this position – behind on retirement or worse, no retirement at all – that I decided to make that my focus going forward.
I have always invested differently for retirement and thought my system could be valuable to others, so I became certified as a financial coach to help women plan and invest for a financially secure retirement.
Since 2018, My Money My Freedom and our exclusive Infinite Income system of retirement planning and investing has helped close to 300 women gain financial confidence, become skilled investors, and get their retirement on track.
I consider myself an activist and am passionate about equality, animals, and financial literacy.
I live in Arizona with my partner Annette and our dogs Hank and Harper where I spend as much time as possible on the tennis court.
